Los Angeles, CA, October 03, 2008 --(PR.com
)-- One of the most influential independent voices in the world of mixed martial arts, Stephen Quadros, a.k.a. “The Fight Professor,” (ShoXC, EliteXC, Pride Fighting Championships) was hitting on all cylinders in the month of September.
“The main group I play with, 7th Sun, just released our first album, titled ‘From The Beginning.’ The band features JT Curtis on guitar/vocals, Adam Kury (Candlebox) on bass/vocals and Mike Russeck on keyboards/vocals. We’re kind of different in that we play a sort of neo-progressive, funk/rock/jam band kind of music. I think people will really like the energy involved in 7th Sun,” exudes 7th Sun drummer Stephen Quadros.
The group also features a healthy dose of Quadros’s percussive virtuosity, especially on “Big Man,” “From The Beginning: Reprise,” “Hard and Slow” and the drum heavy “This Is Not The End.”
Quadros continues, “I have always thirsted to make an international impression in the music industry and I am proud of the 7th Sun album.”
The band has its record release party scheduled for Friday, October 17th at The Palmer Room in West Los Angeles. Featured guests that night will include Jimmy Z (Tom Petty, Dr. Dre, Eurythmics) and Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot).

“One of the things that is difficult for people involved in or around the MMA fight game to comprehend is that I currently do Not work for a fight company as a broadcaster/commentator. I work for a network - in this case I am in my second year working for/with Showtime. This has been a welcome and professional change for me,” says The Fight Professor, who can be seen and heard on the Showtime broadcasts of EliteXC (Elite Xtreme Combat) and the ShoXC: Elite Challenger Series.
“And to even further confuse diehard fight and music fans and/or ‘normal’ people, I just booked an acting job on the hit TV series ‘Dexter’ (Showtime/CBS). Adding to the chaos and bewilderment is the fact that I play neither a musician, a martial artist nor a broadcaster on the show… (Laughs). Now when I inevitably host my own network TV show, my vocational ‘Quadros-phenia’ will have come full circle!”
The airdate on Stephen’s episode of “Dexter” is Sunday, November 23rd.
In the meantime you can catch “The Fight Professor” live on the next installment of ShoXC on Friday, October 10th (ShoXC) and EliteXC on Saturday, November 8th…only on Showtime.
