Ancient Art Inspires Trendy New Feng Shui Store

St. Clair Shores, MI, October 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Feng Shui, the ancient art of arranging your environment to create the most harmonious flow of energy, has inspired a new store at 24627 Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores. The Feng Shui Store is a mixture of feng shui tools, distinctive and affordable home and office accessories, and gifts with a feng shui twist.

Even in a challenging economy, owner Nancy Bidigare is confident that she has found a niche that will be embraced in metro Detroit. “The feng shui I practice has everything to do with helping us pilot our lives in the direction we want. There are so many ways we can surround ourselves with harmony and balance. My store offers the tools and gift items that will help to create harmony in your life and environment.”

The store is set up like a bagua map, a tool used to divide the home or office into nine energy zones representing major areas of life - Career, Knowledge, Family, Health, Wealth, Fame, Romance, Creativity and Travel. By using one of the five elements (fire, earth, metal, water, & wood), and color and shapes relating to that area, you can stimulate areas in your life that you’d like to improve. “This is a store where customers can find those truly special, one-of-a-kind products they can’t find anywhere else,” says Bidigare.

Each item comes with a gift card explaining the item’s uses in the home or office, as well as a bagua map explaining the best placement of the item. Bidigare says one of her best sellers is the Swarovski hanging beveled crystal, an important tool in feng shui, used to manipulate the flow of energy. “When you see sunlight thru a beveled crystal, you see how the suns’ energy is beautifully dispersed,” says Bidigare. “We know from grade school science that energy is all around us. The crystal is doing the same thing with all the energy around us – we just can’t see it.”

In addition to her products, Bidigare has an online store, myfengshuistore.com, loaded with feng shui tips and products, a printable bagua map, and information on decorating with feng shui. In addition, Bidigare offers home consultations and helps her clients find balance in their home and office décor. “There are two aspects in balancing a room,” she says. “One aspect is by balancing the five elements - water, wood, fire, metal, and earth. The other is by balancing the yin and yang - the belief that everything has two opposite sides, like night and day, earth and sky, etc. When a room has balance, there is an immediate feeling of rightness to it. One of my passions is helping clients achieve that balance.”
