Friends of Sandhills Habitat RVers Blitz Build Chriscoe Home

Aberdeen, NC, October 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills has a special crew working on house #162, the home of Justin and Janet Chriscoe. For the past 9 years, Friends of Habitat RVers, 11 couples from all over the United States and Canada, have come to the Sandhills to build homes. Leaving their RVs at the Sycamore Lodge outside Pinehurst, the RVers have taken on this Blitz Build for the Chriscoes and the completion schedule is a two-week marathon of building activities. Starting on September 29, this expert building crew should have the home mostly done by October 10, 2008.

Aiding the Friends of Habitat RVers and the Chriscoe family are area churches and organizations that schedule lunches, snacks, coffee and water breaks. Donations by these local groups allow the workers to stay on the job and get the family into their home.

Documentation of a Habitat Blitz Build has been done by Janet Chriscoe. She has kept a blog about the building of the house from the ground up. It's a fascinating photo history of a Habitat house and how a group of dedicated individuals can come together to build a home. See Janet's web site at www.chriscoehabitathouse.weebly.com.

Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills is a Christian, housing ministry that is able to offer interest-free mortgages to individuals in need of simple, decent housing. They partner with families, volunteers, churches and community organizations to work toward their goal of ending sub-standard housing in the Sandhills.
