Suffern, NY, October 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Friday, October 24 Healthcare Provider Seminar offers clinical and technical information about breastfeeding -- the “gold standard” of mother and infant health -- for the healthcare community. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding for all infants, and advises mothers to breastfeed for the first twelve months and beyond. The Healthcare Provider Seminar offers busy professionals a chance to enhance their knowledge base and make contacts with others in the field.

The Breastfeeding and Parenting Conference on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 24, 25, and 26, offers sessions for families and healthcare providers on breastfeeding education, parenting, childbirth, family nutrition, and communication skills. Children’s activities, an exhibit hall with local and national vendors, and a conference bookstore will be available.

La Leche League International is the world expert on breastfeeding and La Leche League of New York-East offers this expertise to our region. Women who are trained as volunteer La Leche League Leaders offer support to breastfeeding mothers and provide personalized mother-to-mother support. This event represents a gathering of Leaders, breastfeeding families, and healthcare providers from the tri-state area, as well as points as far north as Plattsburgh and as far east as Montauk.
