New Design for Relaxation Meditation Tool Revealed at Estes Park Yoga Journal Conference

Zen Sticks relaxation meditation tools return to the Yoga Journal Conference with new designs in exotic Taiwanese rainbow wood and rosewood.

Tulsa, OK, October 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Zen Stick relaxation meditation tool reached the next stage of evolution at the recent Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park, Colo. Zen Stick creator Laurie Desjardins debuted new designs in exotic Taiwanese rainbow wood and rosewood.

"I loved going back to the Estes Park Yoga Journal Conference," said Desjardins. "For two years in a row I've been blessed with the opportunity to go, and each time I've met so many wonderful people. There's a really great energy about the place."

Desjardins debuted new Zen Stick relaxation meditation tools in rainbow wood, rosewood and wenge, all from Taiwan. These new Zen Sticks feature a unique design, with a bubble in the middle of the stick rather than being straight.

Desjardins created the Zen Stick with the idea of merging Eastern meditation philosophy more easily into hectic Western culture.

"With today's fast-paced lifestyle, people need something to guide them into a meditative state quickly," said Desjardins.

"The Zen Stick relaxation meditation tools instantly arrest the senses, helping quiet the mind and improve focus with just five minutes of meditation. That would be nearly impossible with traditional meditation techniques."

Desjardins will still offer classic designs as well. Zen Stick meditation tools are available from $15 for purple heart and rainbow wood to $110 for black and white ebony. A dollar from each stick purchase will go to the Forest Stewardship Council to help protect ancient forests around the world.

"One of the most important parts of the Zen Stick is the feel," said Desjardins. "Our relaxation meditation tools are created with an extensive and patented sanding and buffing process. This gives an incredibly smooth and soft patina, bringing out the natural beauty of the wood."

Last year's Estes Park Yoga Journal Conference opened up new opportunities for Zen Stick relaxation meditation tools, which are now being sold in a California store as well as the Sleeping Tiger website at http://www.sleepingtiger.org. Desjardins is exploring new poly resin materials for her meditation tools in order to help save forests.

"There are a lot of irons in the fire right now," said Desjardins as she prepares for the conference and the upcoming Christmas shopping season. "I'm really excited about the rest of the year and next year."
