New York, NY, October 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Mr. Alexander Everett, Founder and CEO of The Lorenzo Jackson Foundation (LJF), a New York City-based not-for-profit organization — will be joined by entertainment, business and corporate luminaries at its First Annual Benefit Gala at Rush Arts Gallery on Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 at 6:00pm in New York City. The Lorenzo Jackson Foundation’s unwavering mission is to inspire young students living with HIV/AIDS to move forward and pursue a higher education. The proceeds from the gala will go towards creating scholarships for deserving high school seniors living with HIV and AIDS that are seeking a college education. In support of this worthy cause, The Lorenzo Jackson Foundation will roll out the red carpet to a host of notables and influential guests. Jasmine Sanders from WBLS 107.5 and actress Chyna Layne (Lee Daniel’s upcoming release PUSH) will co-host this inaugural event.

The Lorenzo Jackson Foundation Founder Alexander Everett says, “It is my hope that we as a people recognize the importance of this cause and the strength that lies in these young men and women whom we will be supporting. HIV/AIDS is a widely spread epidemic and it is due to lack of education and community involvement, and therefore there cannot be enough emphasis on education and community. We must come together as one to commend these young adolescents who are so diligently moving forward to seek higher education and serving as a source of inspiration for all of us to fight and succeed.”

The Lorenzo Jackson Foundation is a not-for-profit 501 ©3 organization seeking to raise one million dollars in sponsorship and has already launched several community outreach initiatives that will continue to raise awareness to the purpose and mission of the foundation. There is an ongoing dollar campaign looking to one million people worldwide with the simple logic that if every person gave a minimum of $1.00, The Lorenzo Jackson Foundation would be successful in reaching their goal. Lorenzo Jackson Foundation is actively seeking corporate and private level sponsorship to fuel this admirable cause and propel its mission.
