Orlando, FL, October 27, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Learning Edge North America, providers of leading digital repository, EQUELLA – announce the upcoming release of Version 4.0, to be previewed at Educause 2008.

EQUELLA 4.0 increases the depth and flexibility of the solution from an end-user perspective - better enabling users to interact with, and manage personalized content.

“A key tenet of Content As A Platform is enabling greater control over, and access to content,” said Bob Cupitt, Chief Executive Officer, The Learning Edge North America. “EQUELLA 4.0 is an important mechanism in achieving and delivering on this objective”.

A highlight of EQUELLA 4.0 is the introduction of My Content - a user-centric view of a user’s content and favourites. Furthermore, EQUELLA 4.0 introduces a range of new EQUELLA Agents, including social networking sites such as YouTubeTM.

“EQUELLA 4.0 has been developed in collaboration with members of our global Customer Advisory Boards,” said Peter Van Tienen, General Manager, The Learning Edge North America. “There is a strong focus on providing all levels of users with a dynamic learning platform that fosters improved teaching and learning outcomes”.

Other highlights of this release include:

Personal File Storage: As part of My Content, a new content collection for users to store their personal content is made available.

My Favourites: Users can select content to appear in their favourites lists. Users are able to access their content for contribution, submission to CMS courses, future review, and other actions.
