“One of the great challenges of fighting children’s diseases is the lack of funds for research at both the Federal and philanthropic level. But Bob Henig of Bob’s BMW in Jessup, MD is one man who means business when it comes to saving the lives of children faced with brain tumors. Over the past 14 years Bob, his employees and his motorcycle customers have worked diligently through the Ride for Kids® motorcycle charity program to help children with brain tumors by raising over $540,000 to support the research programs of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. It has been said that a man never stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child. In our eyes, Bob Henig is one very tall man,” stated Mike Traynor, President of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Not only has Henig and Bob’s BMW raised the largest individual and dealership amounts for the last several years in the Baltimore-Washington ride, he is one of the highest individual fundraisers in Ride for Kids® history.

Since 1984, the national Ride for Kids® program and PBTF have promoted childhood brain tumor research and provided family support through free literature about brain tumors, educational newsletters, online conferences and college scholarships. With the help of America's motorcyclists and motorcycle dealers, PBTF has become the world's largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research.
