SUNY Ulster Winter-net Courses Offer Students Affordability, Convenience and Flexibility

Students from Any College Can Earn Credits Quickly and Economically During Vacation Through Online and Classroom Courses.

Stone Ridge, NY, October 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- College students can earn credits quickly and economically during their holiday break by taking online or classroom courses through SUNY Ulster’s Winter-net program, which lets them earn three credits in three weeks.

The accelerated program provides numerous benefits to students, including earning credits in one-fifth the time of a normal 15-week semester with the convenience and flexibility of taking online classes from their home or office without traveling to campus and on their own time schedule.

Open to students at any college, registration runs from Nov. 3, through Dec. 19, with classes running from Dec. 29, 2008 to Jan. 16, 2009.

SUNY Ulster’s comprehensive Winter-net schedule includes a dozen popular courses online ranging from Business Law, Human Resources Management and General Psychology to Western Civilization, Modern China and American History.

In addition to the full schedule of online offerings, a hybrid class on Information Literacy will be offered that combines face-to-face classroom learning with the flexibility of online instruction.

In comparison to earning the same credits at a private university, the community college program can save students hundreds of dollars, providing an affordable and convenient option toward completing their degrees.

“Winter-net is ideal for current SUNY Ulster students, students from other public or private colleges in the region or those returning home during their mid-semester break,” said John Ganio, the college’s dean of academic affairs. “The online format and accelerated class schedule can help students get a jump start on the semester, complete a required course or explore a new area of interest.”

For registration information, visit www.sunyulster.edu and click on Winter-net or call 800-724-0833. The cost per credit hour for New York state residents is $85, plus a $10 per credit fee for online courses.
