Emily Mahood Appointed to Director of Student Development at The Art Institute of Atlanta

The Art Institute of Atlanta recently appointed Emily Mahood as the new director of student development. Ms. Mahood will oversee an integrated student services activities program to foster community among the students and to support other college objectives such as leadership development and community service.

Atlanta, GA, November 06, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Art Institute of Atlanta recently appointed Emily Mahood as the new director of student development. In this position, Ms. Mahood will direct and oversee an integrated student services activities program to foster community among the students at the college and to support other college objectives such as leadership development and community service.

“Emily has extensive experience in the management of student leadership and service programs,” said James Petty, dean of student affairs at The Art Institute of Atlanta. “She is a wonderful addition to our team.”

Before joining The Art Institute, Ms. Mahood worked at Pensacola Junior College in Florida where she held a variety of positions, including student leadership and activities specialist, outreach and community service district coordinator, and, most recently, student leadership and activities district coordinator where she managed the student life programs.

Ms. Mahood earned her master of education in college student personnel administration from the University of West Florida and her bachelor of science in family and child development from Florida State University.
