Baxa Expands Its Automated Syringe Processing Capabilities

Baxa Corporation is the first to provide colored labels for automated filling of sterile anesthesia syringes, with the addition of colored syringe labels to its Rapid-Fillâ„¢ Automated Syringe Filler offering. The system reduces pharmacy overhead for batching activities, while providing the opportunity for more adequate staff allocation and greater inventory control.

Denver, CA, November 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Baxa Corporation announces the addition of colored syringe labels to its Rapid-Fill™ Automated Syringe Filler offering. The Rapid-Fill is the market leader in accurate, easy-to-use, safe and efficient automation for IV syringe filling. The system reduces pharmacy overhead for batching activities, while providing the opportunity for more adequate staff allocation and greater inventory control. Syringe labels are available now in eight new colors (in addition to the original white) that allow customers to extend the Rapid-Fill ASF automation to broader applications in pharmacy filling.

“Today, most pharmacies use a manual process for labeling and color coding their anesthesia syringes,” says Marsha McArthur, Product Manager. “Adding this capability to the Rapid-Fill line increases the product’s value to hospital pharmacies by expanding its applications to include anesthesia drugs,” continues McArthur. Baxa has added eight colored labels to the Rapid-Fill ASF line for use in anesthesiology applications. The new labels expand the potential uses of the unique Rapid-Fill product for hospital pharmacies by reducing the workload involved in sterile filling and labeling of anesthetic drugs.
