Sonitrol Pacific Detection Yields One Arrest, Two Warnings

Hillsboro, OR, November 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Sonitrol Pacific security system alerted authorities to threatening activity outside an Oregon grade school leading to the arrest of one and warnings for two others November 9.

Operator Minta Christopherson received an activation of the school’s audio sensors and heard banging noises she suspected were coming from outside the building. She sent Cascade Enforcement to check on the school. Moments later, Christopherson heard voices and called the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Next, Christopherson received several more activations followed by a delivery driver disarming the system.

Sheriff’s deputies and Cascade Enforcement both arrived at the school about four minutes after receiving the call from Christopherson. They didn’t immediately find the delivery driver, but saw three skateboarders in front of the building. Officers determined the skateboarders were the source of the banging sounds. One of the skateboarders had an outstanding warrant and was arrested, the other two received warnings for trespassing.

Cascade Enforcement located the delivery driver and confirmed he went inside the school and disarmed the system.
