Prince William, VA, June 01, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The Computer Doctor, LLC, today launched a grass roots effort to deploy wireless broadband Internet access in Prince William County. Known as “Wi-Max” or “next-generation Wi-Fi”, Prince William County would join over 60 cities and counties throughout the country including Detroit, Chicago and Philadelphia in implementing “Internet Anytime, Anywhere.”

Bryanna Altman, CEO of The Computer Doctor, LLC will host a presentation on Wednesday June 7th at 9:00 a.m. at the McCoart Building’s Occoquan Room. Keynote speaker Riz Khaliq, Gainesville resident and IBM’s Global Wireless Division Executive will discuss the benefits of Wi-Max for Prince William.

Wi-Max, a wireless broadband technology that provides anywhere, anytime access to the Internet is sometimes referred to as “The Untethered Network” where numerous devices including notebook PCs, PDAs, Pocket PCs, mobile phones and even entertainment devices can access Internet services for business or pleasure.

“As a service business, we must have a sense of urgency in responding to our customers,” said Altman. “Using this next generation Wi-Fi technology we can successfully increase communication, instantly transmit information to our mobile engineering staff, reduce paperwork, enhance customer service and improve productivity.”

Not only will small businesses benefit from this high-tech wireless technology, but hospitals, shopping malls, schools, parks, libraries, police officers, firefighters, utility workers, and virtually any organization can create a mobile workforce. Enhancing public safety while improving productivity through workforce mobility and freeing location bound businesses from wasting time in traffic are huge benefits to countywide Wi-Max.

All business owners within the county are encouraged to attend this meeting to learn more about how they can support, benefit from and prepare for the deployment of Wi-Max broadband access within Prince William County. Ms. Altman hopes that Prince William County will be the first Virginia County to implement an Untethered Network, serving as a technology leader for other cities and counties throughout the state.
