Bloomfield Hills, MI, November 14, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Five attorneys from Bloomfield Hills-based Hertz Schram, PC (www.hertzschram.com) are among those recognized as Michigan Super Lawyers in the 2008 issue by Law & Politics Media, Inc.

This is the third consecutive year that partners Howard Hertz, Kenneth F. Silver, Walter J. Piszczatowski, Patricia A. Stamler and the late Justin C. Ravitz have received this honor.

Additionally, Derek D. McLeod, associate, was named as a “Rising Star” in the 2008 issue of Michigan Super Lawyers.

Hertz, who formed the law firm of Hertz Schram PC with Bradley Schram in 1979, specializes in entertainment law and is the lead attorney of the firm’s Entertainment Practice Group. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan Law School. Hertz graduated from Wayne State University and also received his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State.

He is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School.

Ravitz, the former Detroit Recorder’s Court judge who passed away in December of 2007, specialized in alternate dispute resolution services as a facilitator, mediator and arbitrator on complex cases.

The attorneys featured in Michigan Super Lawyers are selected though a multi-step process. A blue ribbon panel of the top attorneys in each respective practice area evaluates the candidates. The final selection is made by dividing the candidates by their firm size and selecting the top five percent. Rising Stars are the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state - those who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. Only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers, while only two and a half percent are named Rising Stars.
