Dorf, founder of and managing partner to The Dorf Law Firm, LLP, Mamaroneck, NY, was appointed President of the Orienta Point Association, Inc. at an OPA Board Meeting held on September 9, 2008. Originally formed in 1928, this community organization is now comprised of approximately 525 homes. It functions to protect and promote the interests of its current members as owners of property, or as residents, in the area known as Orienta Point, in Mamaroneck, NY, where Jon and his family have lived for several years.
Accepting this position is in keeping with Jon’s community-minded spirit. As Jon stated, “The importance of community in today’s world can’t be overstated. Community, in large part, is one of the critical and fundamental building blocks of a healthy environment. It’s where rules are safeguarded, quality of life is upheld, and families thrive.”
Jon’s dedication to his community started when he served for approximately seven years as a Town Prosecutor for the Town of Mamaroneck and as a member of the Harbor Commission of the Village of Mamaroneck. Currently, he is highly involved with The Business Council of Westchester where he serves as its General Counsel and on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Jon is also a member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Westchester County Bar Association.
