Ziggity Zoom Chosen by ALA for "Great Sites for Kids" List

ZiggityZoom.com was recently chosen as an exceptional site for children by the American Library Association.

Virginia Beach, VA, November 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association, has added their Fall selection to Great Web Sites for Kids (www.ala.org/greatsites), its online resource containing hundreds of links to commendable Web sites for children. Ziggity Zoom was one of the 15 sites chosen.

ZiggityZoom.com is a fun and educational site for kids in the 2-8 year old range. Highlights include Stories with audio, online coloring, free printables, crafts & activities and online games.

Much emphasis has been placed on Kindergarten Readiness, providing parents and teachers with preschool worksheets and alphabet letter tracing sheets. Ziggity Zoom also offers Spanish/English activities for early bilingual learning.

Many activities are built around family involvement and Ziggity Zoom features many new crafts, coloring pages and activities for holidays, gearing up now for Christmas.

Considering that there is a plethora of kids sites on the web, Ziggity Zoom LLC is honored to have been chosen by the ALA. “Not all Web sites for kids are created equal,” said Karen Lemmons, co-chair of the ALSC committee. “To make the cut and appear on the Great Web sites for Kids, a site must demonstrate commendable quality and reflect and encourage young people’s interests in exemplary ways. Sites must stand up to an evaluation and voting process by the committee before being deemed ‘great’ and added to the GWS page.”

Ziggity Zoom looks forward to increasing awareness of important kid issues, such as kids health, childhood obesity, diet and fitness, literacy, and education readiness by providing activities, articles, and information to help parents, teachers and caregivers the tools to encourage healthy eating, being fit, learning to read and write.
