Rockinghamn, NC, November 25, 2008 --(PR.com
)-- The Fall Family Fest was held from 11am to 2pm on November 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Rockingham. This was the first event in Richmond County for Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills.
“Despite the unfortunate weather, we had a good turnout of children and families,” said Amanda Jakl, Special Events and Communications Coordinator. “The puppet show and clown were definitely the highlights."
Activities included leaf rubbing, face painting, and games like ring toss, ducks in a pond and bean bag toss. The bracelet making table was hands down the most popular activity table followed by the lollipop tree.
The Youth from Village Chapel of Pinehurst made balloon animals in between the two puppet shows.
"The volunteers and staff who manned the tables had a great time and are looking forward to next year. I am too!" added Jakl.
One $100 Shell gas card and two $50 Shell gas cards were donated for the event. Winners were drawn at the end of the event. The $100 gas card winner was Keith Thompson and the $50 gas cards went to Nancy Brooks and Sybille Perreault. All proceeds went to build houses in Richmond County.
This event was made possible by generous supporters in the community, including First United Methodist Church, Perdue and Piedmont Natural Gas. Table sponsors included Exit Realty, Sandhills Regional Medical Center and Railroad Friction Products. Volunteer groups included The Youth from Village Chapel of Pinehurst, McDonald Baptist Youth Group, Concord Methodist Youth Group and the Rotary Club of Hamlet.
