Boston, MA, December 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- uTest, the SaaS marketplace for software application testing, announced today that it has hired Matt Johnston as its vice president of marketing. Johnston will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and execution of uTest’s marketing and communication efforts. Prior to joining uTest, Johnston was vice president of marketing at leading services marketplace, OnForce.

“Matt is a much-needed addition to our executive team,” said Doron Reuveni, co-founder and CEO of uTest. “His track record in building online marketplaces and growing other start-ups will be critical as we take uTest to the next level. We look forward to further accelerating our growth, and Matt will help us tell the uTest story in a creative and compelling way.”

As part of the OnForce leadership team, Johnston helped create and implement a successful marketing plan which enabled the company to reach new customers and expand its growth. Prior to that, he was director of marketing at Mimeo.com where he worked to establish the company’s brand and advertising strategy, positioning the company for accelerated growth.

“This is an exceptional opportunity and a great time for me to join uTest. More than ever before, software firms need scalable, cost-effective testing solutions, and uTest is uniquely positioned to meet that need,” said Johnston. “uTest’s marketplace model and community-driven solution is truly unique, and I look forward to helping grow the uTest brand and business.”

From 1997 to 2004, Johnston worked at Herman Miller, Inc, serving in the e-commerce division and research and development group as a commercialization strategist. He earned his MBA in Marketing and Technology from New York University and BA from Calvin College.

uTest, which also announced a $5 million round of Series B funding today, is growing rapidly. Having launched its software testing marketplace earlier this year, the company is accelerating its growth by investing in marketing, sales and its community of testers.
