The Learning Edge International, providers of leading digital repository, EQUELLA – announces the release of Version 4.0. EQUELLA 4.0 extends on the vision of “Content As The Platform”, providing users with enhanced search, creation, management, classification, sharing and collaboration functionality.

EQUELLA 4.0 increases the depth and flexibility of the solution from an end-user perspective - better enabling users to interact with, and manage personalised content.

A highlight of EQUELLA 4.0 is the introduction of My Content - a user-centric view of a user’s content and favourites. Users are now provided with a personal storage area, along with the ability to select favourite content. What this means for users is that they will be able to easily search, store and manage personalised learning content. Furthermore, EQUELLA 4.0 introduces a range of new EQUELLA Agents, including social networking sites such as YouTubeTM.

Personal File Storage: As part of My Content, a new content collection for users to store their personal content is made available.
My Favourites: Users can select content to appear in their favourites lists. Users are able to access their content for contribution, submission to CMS courses, future review, and other actions.
Advanced Content Authoring: New content authoring and editing tools are introduced in EQUELLA 4.0. These web-based tools are delivered via a familiar WYSIWYG interface. Using familiar EQUELLA functionality, users can utilise and access shared and approved resources, as well as content from My Content and My Favourites.
Enhanced Searching: EQUELLA 4.0 introduces an expanded list of integrated 3rd party repositories and social networking sites, including YouTubeTM and iTunes UTM.
Integration Updates: Integration enhancements to 3rd party systems have been made; ensuring institutions can maintain dynamic, interoperable learning environments.
