Williams Mullen Attorney Elizabeth Scott Wins Business Leader's 'Women Extraordinaire' Award.

Raleigh, NC, December 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Williams Mullen announced that Elizabeth Scott was among 10 winners of the Business Leader's 2008 Women Extraordinaire Award recognized at a luncheon held on December 8th at the newly opened Raleigh Convention Center. Video event highlights can be found on the Business Leader Triangle Edition website.

Winners underwent a rigorous selection process and were chosen based upon a blind nomination review process from over 200 nominations. Ms. Scott, a partner in the firm’s Litigation section, is the first Williams Mullen attorney to receive the honor.

“I am so honored and humbled to be considered in the same standing as the other outstanding women who have been named Business Leader 's Women Extraordinaire this year,” said Scott.

Elizabeth was nominated for the award by Keith Kapp, vice president at Williams Mullen, as well as Karon Thornton, an 18-year colleague who is now Associate Counsel at Duke University and Duke University Health System, Inc.

“We are so pleased with Elizabeth’s recognition in the Triangle community. She has been an important part of our firm for over 22 years now,” said Kapp. “She is very deserving of the recognition the Women Extraordinaire award provides.”

“I was thrilled to nominate Elizabeth for this award,” said Karon Thornton. “There could not be an honor more suited for her. Elizabeth is a loyal friend, nurturing mentor, fiercely passionate attorney, dedicated philanthropist, and respected community member.”
