P3Pictures Announces "The Murder of Dirk Snowglobe," a Short Film and Web Series
P3Pictures has announced The Murder of Dirk Snowglobe, a film-noir comedy. The short-film pilot will debut in April with the web series to follow. The website, dirksnowglobe.com, is available immediately.
Camas, WA, December 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- P3Pictures has announced The Murder of Dirk Snowglobe, a film-noir comedy starring Matthew Thogerson as a hard nosed, but clueless, private investigator who believes that he is dead. His partner, Chet Candles, to be played by Jeff Drovdahl, looks after Dirk as the two solve a string of murder cases in Borderton, a city in decay.
According to director, Nathan Fairhurst, “We’ve been working on the Dirk story for a long time. We’re really in touch with Dirk’s world, the characters, and the clues. If we pull this off, it’s going to be really funny.”
The short-film pilot will debut in April with the web series to follow. The website, dirksnowglobe.com, is available immediately. The filmmakers will release a stream of clues on the site that relate to Dirk’s cases, and will write articles and blogs about the story, filmmaking, and a range of interests. Members of the site can join in the conversation with comments.
The photographic clues – as well as the video for the pilot and series – will be shot with 35mm lenses on a full frame digital sensor. The equipment will enable the P3Pictures team to offer a film-like experience, rarely found in web video.
Producer, Jon Fairhurst, developed the website, and has plans for a string of new features. “It’s a detective story, so it all revolves around the clues. At the same time, we’re making a comedy, so you never know what to expect.”
The team plans to begin production within a matter of weeks.
