College Adds 3 Certificate Programs to Center for Adult and Professional Studies

Laurinburg, NC, December 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- St. Andrews Presbyterian College today announced three new certificate programs offered through its Center for Adult and Professional Studies.
These new programs offer certificates in equine business management, therapeutic horsemanship business management, and organizational leadership.

“These certificates build on our strong educational opportunities in our business department and equestrian program,” said Dr. William McConnell, associate dean of adult and extended programs. “There is high interest in our local community as well as regionally for these programs. We are pleased to be able to offer them.”

Classes leading to the certificates begin in January 2009.

Through the Center for Adult and Professional Studies, students may pursue certificates through traditional and online classes. Additionally, majors offered are business administration, liberal studies, elementary education, and courses leading to teacher licensure.

“We recognize and celebrate the needs of working adults who must balance work, family and personal responsibilities while still pursuing their educational goals,” said McConnell. “We welcome the energy and experience that these students bring to our community and look forward to making their dreams a reality.”

Courses available through the Center for Adult and Professional Studies will be offered on St. Andrews’ Main Campus in Laurinburg, its St. Andrews @ Sandhills site in Pinehurst, and through St. Andrews Online. Students enrolled through the center have the flexibility to choose courses offered through any or all of those options.

Spring semester courses begin in early January and enrollment will begin soon.
