Red Hatters to Brunch at HarborPlace on January 29, 2009

Get ready for the purple and red invasion. On Thursday, January 29, 2009, one hundred members of the Red Hat Society will dress in red hats and purple outfits to brunch at HarborPlace at Port St Lucie.

(Port St Lucie, FL, December 28, 2008 --(PR.com)-- "Our first Red Hat Society Tea Party was held in 2008 at HarborPlace and attracted over 100 Hatters," says Queen Marian Oettinger of Harbor Lites at HarborPlace at Port St Lucie. "We expect this brunch to be equally as popular, so be sure to RSVP soon!"

Marian is one of 300,000 women over the age of 50 in pursuit of fun and frivolity. The Red Hat Society has attracted more than 16,000 chapters worldwide who have had countless stories written about their outings in national publications including the New York Times and Boston Globe newspapers and Women's Day and Romantic Homes magazines.

The "unorganized" Brunch begins Jan. 29 at 11 am at HarborPlace at Port St Lucie followed by picture snapping, hugs and exchanging of Red Hatters phone numbers. When asked if such a celebration was a Port St Lucie thing, Oettinger replied, "Life is a sassy Red Hat thing."

The Red Hat Society began as a result of a few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor and elan more than three years ago. Members believe silliness is the comedy relief of life, and since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.
