Sonitrol Pacific Operator Hears Voices, Deputies Arrest Five

Mukilteo, WA, January 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Five juveniles suspected of burglarizing a Washington elementary school were arrested on New Year’s Eve after a Sonitrol Pacific operator heard voices over the school’s audio security system.

Sonitrol Pacific Operator Jaime Maranville received signal activations from the school’s portable classrooms and listened to real-time audio to verify the alarm. She heard several voices and called the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers arrived at the school in minutes and located five juveniles. The kids were in possession of items from the portable classrooms and alcohol, and deputies took them into custody.

In 2008, more than 170 suspects were arrest after detection by a Sonitrol Pacific system. The company has been providing electronic security to schools and businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest since 1978. In those 30 years, Sonitrol Pacific has assisted law enforcement in the arrest of more than 5,000 suspects.
