Atlanta-Based General Contractor Starnes Oswalt Receives National Green Accreditation

Tucson, AZ, January 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Starnes Oswalt Retail Services, Inc. of Atlanta, GA and Tucson, AZ has announced that C. Lee Oswalt, partner and President, recently earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) status in Building and Design from the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is a national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.

Starnes Oswalt joins a select group of general contractors nationwide who recognize the significance of “green” building trends on the future of the building industry. The LEED rating system administered by the U.S. Green Building Council is a nationally recognized benchmark for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. “Green buildings outperform non-green counterparts in efficiency, rental rates, occupancy, and sale price,” Mr. Oswalt said. LEED gives owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance through a whole-building approach to sustainability. Mr. Oswalt added that “the economic climate right now makes sense for retail and financial clients to incorporate more sustainable practices.”

Starnes Oswalt Retail Services works nationwide to provide expertise in construction and remodels, site surveys, roll outs, and fixture/graphics installation. Additional support services include logistics, warehousing and full project management. More information at www.starnes-oswalt.com.
