What’s Up Interactive Launches Mobile Web Sites & Applications Practice

Atlanta based What’s Up Interactive has launched a new practice to develop Web sites and mobile applications for iPhones, BlackBerries and other wireless phones.

Atlanta, GA, January 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- What’s Up Interactive has announced the establishment of a new practice to develop Web sites and mobile applications for iPhones, BlackBerries and other wireless phones.

“Smartphones are creating measurable audiences that businesses can target,” said What’s Up CEO Richard Warner. “iPhones alone now account for about 1% of US Web traffic — a fantastic success story that businesses can’t ignore. E-commerce, games, productivity applications are all viable on the mobile platform, and What’s Up Interactive’s staff is passionate about delivering solutions for it.”

Among the first clients for What’s Up Interactive’s mobile platform development is WAGA TV Fox5 Atlanta. The application, now in development, is part of a project to develop a hyperlocal platform for user generated content and advertising.

“People are looking at their mobile devices all the time,” said What’s Up COO Keith Meade. “It’s often not a question of should we have a mobile version of a site -- it’s really do you want to reach the mobile audience.”

The new platform for Fox5 will launch later in the year.
