When asked how the reasons behind the enquiries have changed, Adam explained; "We have been getting short term tutoring enquiries from families going through changes in their circumstances and are looking for a way to minimise the impact on their children's schooling. One particular family enquired about this because their local private school is closing and they need a stopgap whilst they move to another area with better alternative schools. With more and more of the smaller independent schools closing in the current economic climate there will likely be a rise in the number of such enquiries."

"This is a bit of a minefield for us," Adam said, "as many parents aren't aware of the potential issues caused by a short-term contract for a full-time live-in tutor. Many of our tutors move to working with us after employment in the school system. If we can only guarantee three months of work, they are unlikely to be able to finding teaching work for rest of the academic year and as a result are less likely to make that transition. The academic year dictates our recruitment timing and by extension, it also restricts the tutor's ability to find work elsewhere part way through the academic year. Therefore, parents looking for full-time live-in tutors on a short term basis may have to find ways to attract superb candidates in such circumstances. One way is by stipend, the other by luck coincidence with other family requests, and the last is to pay exciting salaries for the short term assignment.
