Russell Bedford Names Sherif Dabbous as New Member Firm in Cairo, Egypt

Cairo audit, tax and consulting firm joins Russell Bedford global accounting group.

London, United Kingdom, January 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Russell Bedford International has announced the appointment of Sherif Dabbous as the global audit network's new member firm in Cairo, Egypt.

The Cairo-based public accounting and audit practice was founded by Mansour Dabbous in 1964. The firm initially developed a regional focus, opening representative offices in Libya, Lebanon and Kuwait.

In 1979 Sherif Dabbous, son of the founder, joined the firm and refocused on work in Egypt. Over the years, with expansion of the client base and diversification of the services offered, the firm has grown to become one of the larger independent audit practices in the country, with 45 personnel in total.

The firm’s senior partner, Sherif Dabbous, has more than 30 years of professional experience in auditing, taxation, company formation and corporate restructuring covering a wide range of industries such as tourism, textiles, iron and steel and financial institutions.

Samir Ismail is a director with some 36 years’ professional experience in auditing and taxation. Before joining the firm in 1998, he was an auditor at the Egyptian Auditing & Regulatory Agency, responsible for the audits of many public companies in a variety of industries.

Mohamed el Shafee, another director with more than 30 years’ experience, was also an auditor at the same agency before joining the firm in 2006. His experience includes the audits of public companies in the banking, private equity, industrial, retail and entertainment sectors.

Amira Thabet is the corporate services director. She is a chartered accountant with more than 16 years of experience. Besides her auditing and tax roles, she specialises in company restructuring and the establishment and registration of public and private companies.

Karim Dabbous, grandson of the founder, joined the firm in 2002. He then moved to a Big-4 firm, gaining experience in audit and transaction services in a wide range of sectors, before re-joining the firm in 2007.

The firm is licensed to audit publicly-listed companies, banks and other financial institutions, as well as privately held companies.
