Atrion Networking Corporation Donates Wireless Network to Save the Bay

Wireless network allows non-profit to increase Bay advocacy and meet visitor needs.

Warwick, RI, January 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Atrion Networking Corporation, a leading provider of information technology and managed services, today announces it has donated a wireless network to Save the Bay. The security-enabled network provides the non-profit organization and its visitors with the necessary tools, security and internet access needed for organizational outreach and private events.

The wireless network was installed at the Save the Bay Center, where, in addition to its own initiatives, the organization hosts various corporate and private events. Previously, in order to ensure the integrity of Save the Bay’s network, visitors to the Center did not have internet access. With high speed and security features, the donated network enhances Save the Bay as an event venue and provides an increasingly requested service to the benefit of all authorized visitors.

“Save The Bay is built on the idea that a community of care connects all of us who recognize the importance of a clean and healthy Narragansett Bay and watershed,” said John Martin, director of marketing and communications for Save the Bay. “Our support is based on the idea that everyone – individuals and businesses -- can contribute in one way or another. Atrion saw an opportunity to enhance our effectiveness by providing Save The Bay with an efficient and secure wireless communications network that will help meet the needs of our staff, volunteers and the thousands of people in the community who come to the Bay Center to learn and work. With Atrion’s help, Save The Bay will move forward, working for a better, cleaner and healthier Bay to the benefit of all Rhode Islanders.”

“Atrion is proud to donate this wireless network to Save the Bay,” said Tim Hebert, CEO of Atrion. “Consistently, they are a generous host for our events, and we admire the passion and dedication invested in their vital cause. When we saw a need in the organization, we quickly decided to provide them with a wireless network as a small gesture of Atrion’s support and appreciation. The network will allow the Save the Bay team to continue to address the needs of their guests as well as further their Bay advocacy and education programs throughout Rhode Island.”
