Motivational Speaker Almas J. Sami’ Will Give Free Parenting Lecture at the Zula B. Wylie Library in Cedar Hill, Texas
In an effort to give back to the community, Almas J. Sami’ will give a free “I AM BEING…A Great Parent: (Women Raising Sons…Alone), lecture at the Zula B. Wylie Library, Thursday, January 29th at 7:00 pm. The I AM BEING Lecture Series is one of several lectures that Mr. Sami’ offers through his company Sohaja Publishing & Lecturing Company, LLC.
San Antonio, TX, January 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- “I AM BEING” lecture series address various topics such as Parenting, Student Motivation, Community, and Corporate Team Building by teaching simple, yet effective communication techniques designed to enhance a positive presence with oneself and family members. Mr. Sami’ is a contributing writer of the inspirational parenting book, “IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD – Transcending Boundaries”, joining Editor, Diane Sears and numerous authors including Dr. Alvin F. Poussaint, Gary A. Johnson, Dr. Warren Farrell and Martin G. Ramey to name a few. Sami’ has also written “The Unshackled Mind: An Afrocentric Approach To Self Help”. He has written a children’s book, WHEN TREES COULD WALK that will be released soon.
The “I Am Being…A Good Parent”: (Women Raising Boys…Alone), addresses the concerns that many parents (women) face raising youth today. Our society offers many distractions and potential barriers to communication with young people. “When I was a young boy, all I had was a couple of toys, marbles and a bicycle. I watched five television programs on three different channels…and I ate a home cooked dinner every evening in a warm home.” Stated Almas J. Sami’ recently. “I can’t imagine what I would have done if I had to deal with 500 television channels, twenty four hour news and sports shows and not to mention video games. Somewhere in there is the child you brought into this world. We help people find their kids again.”
