Amanda Holloway Earns National Council for Interior Design Qualification

Raleigh, NC, January 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Lou Jurkowski, chief executive officer of BJAC, pa (www.bjac.com), an architectural firm that offers professional services for specialized, complex institutional projects, has announced that Amanda Holloway, interior designer, has earned the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). The core purpose of NCIDQ is to protect the health, life safety and welfare of the public by establishing standards of competence in the practice of interior design. Completion of the NCIDQ examination recognizes that an individual has met minimum competency standards for the practice of interior design.

Holloway received her bachelor’s degree in interior design from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., where she was a student member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Holloway has been certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which means she has demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles as well as a familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes. LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

“I am proud of Amanda’s achievement in earning her NCIDQ,” said Jurkowski. “We encourage all of our employees to expand their capabilities and become lifelong learners. This qualification will be a great benefit to our clients.
