Council for Entrepreneurial Development Announces ‘Finding Your Next Career Opportunity’ Series

Research Triangle Park, NC, January 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Joan Siefert Rose, president of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (www.cednc.org), a private, nonprofit organization that promotes entrepreneurial efforts in the Triangle region of North Carolina, has announced that CED will host four seminars in February and March as part of the ‘Finding Your Next Career Opportunity’ series. The series will focus on the executive job search and provide job seekers with a comprehensive overview of the necessary steps to identifying and winning their next career opportunity. All events are free to CED members and members of CED’s partner organizations, the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). The first seminar, titled “Finding Your Next Career Opportunity” is slated for Monday, Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. and will focus on self-assessment and self-promotion, leveraging the Internet to identify opportunities, effectively managing your search and interview preparation tips and closing strategies. Anastasia Pucci, president and CEO of Carlyle & Conlan, will present.

The second seminar, “Your Best Interview,” is set for Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 12 p.m. A panel of human resource experts will focus on the dos and don’ts of interviewing. Attendees will learn how to positively connect with interviewers, effectively answer situational and behavioral questions, exude and inspire confidence and expertly handle the tough questions. Panelists include Pucci as moderator; Mike Lemmons, senior HR consultant; Stacey Mangum, vice president of human resources at Geomagic; and Suzy Nesbitt, senior HR consultant.

The third seminar, “The Local Job Market,” will be held Monday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. A panel of search firm owners will share their perspectives on the local job market and the opportunities within their respective fields. Panelists will discuss how to effectively work with recruiters and how to differentiate your candidacy with a prospective employer. Panel participants include Pucci as moderator; Kim Foster, principal and managing director of search for Elinvar; Gary Greene, CEO of Greene Resources; and Craig Stone, CEO of HireNetworks.

The fourth and final seminar, “There Is Only One First Impression… Effectively Marketing Yourself,” is set for Wednesday, Mar. 18 at 5 p.m. The session will provide attendees with guidance on the ins and outs of professional and social networking. Panelists will discuss effective self-marketing strategies and tips on “working the room” and leveraging online tools. Panelists include Pucci as moderator; Suzanne Miglucci, vice president of business development at SciQuest; and Patty Briguglio, president of MMI Associates, Inc.
