LatisseTM, Highly-Anticipated Eyelash Enhancer, Hits Shelves at Edina’s Skin Rejuvenation Clinic

Twin Cities’ medical spa, Skin Rejuvenation Clinic is one of the first cosmetic centers in Minnesota to carry LatisseTM, the only FDA-approved prescription to increase the length, thickness and darkness of eyelashes.

Minneapolis, MN, January 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In December of 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved LatisseTM, the first and only prescription treatment for hypotrichosis, or inadequate eyelashes. LatisseTM was approved specifically to enhance eyelash length, thickness and darkness. This week, the highly-anticipated prescription eyelash enhancer is slated to hit the shelves at select cosmetic centers in Minnesota. Skin Rejuvenation Clinic of Edina, announced today that it is proud to be one of the first physicians’ offices in the state to sell LatisseTM.

Available only through select physician’s offices, LatisseTM is a once-daily prescription treatment applied to the base of the upper eyelashes with a sterile, single-use-per-eye disposable applicator. According to Allergan, Inc., the manufacturer of LatisseTM, users can expect to experience longer, fuller and darker eyelashes in as little as eight weeks, with full results in 16 weeks. If use of the product is discontinued, eyelashes will simply return to their previous state over a period of weeks to months, or an average eyelash hair cycle.

According to Dr. Elizabeth Hagberg, owner of Skin Rejuvenation Clinic, the fundamental benefits of LatisseTM (active ingredient is bimataprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%) were discovered years ago. “In 2001, the FDA approved this solution as a treatment for specific eye disorders relating to glaucoma,” she said. “Patients who had been treated with this type of solution noted eyelash growth as a side effect.”

“As a physician, what’s even more exciting than the notion that I can offer a product to literally thicken, lengthen and darken lashes in a matter of weeks, is the fact that LatisseTM has been widely recognized in the medical community as a safe and effective product,” Dr. Hagberg concluded. “After years of clinical trials and hundreds of patients tested, I am confident that LatisseTM will exceed consumers’ expectations.”
