PerformTech Announces New Contract with the Department of Education, Federal Student Aid; PerformTech Will Create Custom Training for FSA’s Workforce Development Services

PerformTech Wins a Contract with U.S. Department of Education to create an instructor led Workforce Development Service for the Federal Student Aid.

Alexandria, VA, February 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- PerformTech, a leading provider of custom training solutions, announces it recently won a contract with the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid to design and develop an instructor led course for the Workforce Development Services. PerformTech will educate FSA employees on data analysis skills and knowledge; in addition to appropriately using statistical concepts to increase capabilities to create a more efficient workforce.

The course to be developed under this contract is Data Analysis Level 1, the first in a series of three courses. Using critical tasks identified by FSA, each course takes participants through multiple, reality-based data analysis, locating the necessary data within FSA systems, retrieving and manipulating data, then presenting the most results. Using realistic problems to drive the courses, will increase the participants’ ability to apply what they learn to their job, and to develop strategic thought processes for tackling similar or increasingly difficult or questions.

Previously, PerformTech conducted a thorough Needs Assessment to design a curriculum for FSA employees on Data Analysis. This is the first course identified in the curriculum. PerformTech also developed a Student Aid Essentials Curriculum to help FSA staff and contractors understand the “big picture of FSA” to increase the business knowledge, resulting in the ability to better serve and educate students looking for loans to aid post-secondary education.

PerformTech collaborated with FSA to establish a knowledge base that is consistent, applicable, and accessible to all employees; PerformTech organized this knowledge base into a modular curriculum leveraging technology and provided diverse ways for employees to acquire the knowledge, and promote the curriculum to gain enterprise-wide participation. A marketing and communication strategy was also initiated to promote FSA projects as they are deployed.
