FIU Professor is Runner-up for Inspire Integrity Awards
Florida International University Faculty Fellow John Bailly will receive a $1,000 stipend and a $1,000 donation to his university's scholarship fund.
Washington, DC, February 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dr. John Bailly, a faculty fellow at Florida International University, is the runner-up for the Inspire Integrity Awards. The awards are the only national student-nominated award that recognize college instructors for their commitment to embodying and instilling integrity.
The awards are sponsored by The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an honor society inviting high achieving freshmen and sophomores.
Dr Bailly will receive a $1,000 award and NSCS will donate $1,000 to Florida International University's scholarship fund.
The Inspire Integrity Awards took place in five regions across the United States. Students nominated faculty members in each region who inspired integrity through their classroom lectures, activities, and curriculum. Nominated faculty members were asked to write a brief essay on the concept of integrity and its meaning to them.
Regional selection committees selected three finalists from each region, each of whom will receive an award and a personal stipend of $350.
The 15 finalists were judged by a national selection committee, who named Dr. Bailly as the national runner-up, and the University of Maryland's Dr. John Pease as the national recipient.
