Hannay Reels to Exhibit at Aviation Industry Expo 2009

Hannay Reels will exhibit a variety of hose and cable reels for the aviation industry at the Aviation Industry Expo, March 10-12, 2009.

Westerlo, NY, February 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Hannay Reels today announced that it will exhibit at the Aviation Industry Expo, March 10-12, 2009, at booth number 348 in the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

The company offers a variety of hose and cable reels specifically designed for the aviation industry, including ground support applications like refueling, airport hydrant fueling, grounding and sensing operations. Hannay’s custom design capabilities also allow the company to offer expertise and manufacturing flexibility to build a custom reel to exact specifications.

Hannay’s 5000 Series single-wrap reel features a strong, heavy-duty design to accommodate the longer lengths of large hoses used in aviation fueling. The space-saving, narrow, single-wrap design provides quick and easy rewinding, wrapping and guiding of hose that is normally difficult to handle. This reel features a chain-and-sprocket drive that can be powered by an electric, hydraulic, or compressed air motor. It can handle 1 ½- inch through 3-inch I.D. hose, the latter which only Hannay Reels offers with the I-Hub option. The I-Hub is lubrication-free and has no ball bearings and only a simple seal replacement when necessary. Another feature of the I-Hub is that it has no threaded connections, reducing the risk of leaks.

The HGR and GR Series spring and manual rewind static grounding cable reels are designed for use in explosive or hazardous conditions like aircraft refueling, when a build-up of static electricity might cause a spark and subsequent explosion. These static cable reels handle up to 200 feet of static grounding cable, providing smooth operation and requiring minimum cable pull.

Hannay’s N600 series is ideal for refueling applications requiring dual hose with deadman controls for the refueler technician. This narrow-frame, spring-rewind reel is designed to simultaneously accommodate equal lengths of two hoses, even of different diameters. The narrow frame and compact mounting base allows placement in limited spaces. A non-sparking ratchet assembly locks the reel at the desired length of hose payout, and a pull on the hose unlocks the reel for the spring motor to retract it. A declutching arbor is also included to prevent damage from reverse winding.

A recently updated, full-color catalog featuring information on Hannay’s complete line of products for the aviation industry and custom capabilities is available online at http://go.hannay.com/PR. Aviation reels additionally provide safer and neater hose storage to promote prolonged hose life.
