Bombardier Selects HyperSizer for Design and Analysis of All-Composite Learjet 85

Learjet selects HyperSizer® as the structural desing and analysis software of their newly launched, all-composite Learjet 85 jet.

Newport News, VA, February 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Learjet selected HyperSizer structural sizing software for use throughout the design of their much anticipated, all-composite business jet, the Learjet 85 aircraft. When faced with the challenges of how to optimize aircraft wings and fuselage structures and more specifically, composite material layup ply sequencing, Learjet chose the world-leading composite optimization software package, HyperSizer.

“This new relationship with HyperSizer supports the plan to apply an outstanding composite technology to the Learjet 85 aircraft,” said Ralph Acs, Vice President, Learjet 85.

“This is an exciting project to be working on in close collaboration with our software customer Learjet. We are co-locating some of our own employees in Montreal to work day-to-day with Bombardier engineers to provide the very best user support. Seeing first-hand how Bombardier and Learjet engineers put HyperSizer into action allows us to anticipate their needs and to communicate to our home office software developers the new capabilities to program on a real time basis,” states Craig Collier, President of Collier Research Corporation, developers of HyperSizer software.
