New York & Company Enjoys Success in First Holiday Season Leveraging Comparison Shopping Engines with Channel Intelligence

Leading Apparel Retailer New York & Company Ends 2008 with 85 Percent Growth in Shopping Engine Revenues.

Orlando, FL, February 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Channel Intelligence, Inc. (CI), the leader in Internet marketing commerce solutions for manufacturers, retailers and publishers, today announced outstanding success by client New York & Company in comparison shopping engines (CSEs) during the 2008 holiday season. The retailer was able to grow its weekly revenues from shopping engines by 85 percent throughout 2008, despite industry complaints of a weak holiday shopping season.

The 2008 holiday season marked the first year the retailer targeted consumers using shopping engines. New York & Company opened its Web store in 2006 and subsequently launched its shopping engine programs with CI’s SellCast™ Managed Services in the spring of 2008, after determining that CI’s many years of experience and marquee customer list made them the right partner for a successful CSE integration.

“We felt confident that CI would help us ensure we were not only advertising the right products on each site but also help us keep our costs in line,” says Andrea Gulli, Director of E-Commerce for New York & Company. “After seeing steady growth since our launch we felt really good going into the fourth quarter and now that all of the data is in, we are extremely satisfied with our program.”

SellCast™ Managed Services is CI’s complete outsourced solution for top-tiered retailers needing the expertise of a Strategic Marketing Consultant (SMC) to manage all of the day-to-day aspects of their shopping engine programs. In the Managed Services offering, retailers are assigned a dedicated SMC who works with the retailer to establish program goals and then works diligently to execute against those goals by selecting the appropriate sites, products, and bidding strategy. With SellCast™ Managed Services, New York & Company was able to grow its weekly revenues from shopping engines by over 85 percent throughout 2008.

CI Vice President of Strategic Consulting Steven Roth adds, “We didn’t let the fears and anxieties that surfaced about the economy last fall and the potential impact it could have on consumer spending change how we service our customers. Our fundamental approach to helping ensure retailers advertise and sell the right products at the right time to the right consumer is what makes our program unique. We are ecstatic that New York & Company saw such great results with us.”

New York & Company is in good company, as retailers HP Home and Home Office, Best Buy, ShopNBC, Benchmark Brands, Charming Shoppes, West Marine, Spiegel, ShoeMall, Hanover Direct, The Home Depot, Golfsmith and many others all benefit from SellCast ™ Managed Services.
