Shakleton White Associates CEO Claims Further Losses Likely Before Next Major Low

After concluding its worst six-month span since 1932, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has broken into the 6,000s to start March.

Seattle, WA, March 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Speaking from the Shakleton White Associates corporate offices, Jennifer Campbell, CEO, opened her speech by commenting “This places the blue-chip benchmark and the S&P 500 at less than half their record highs established 17 months ago, and based on the current backdrop, further losses are likely before a sustained upturn.” She then went on to say “With this week's downturn, the index has broken decisively under the November low of 741, notching its worst close since October 1996 and from current levels, first resistance holds at 729 therefore matching the bottom of Monday's gap and is followed by more significant overhead around 741.”

Campbell went on to talk about the Dow saying “Meanwhile, the Dow's near-term view is similar. In its case, the index has broken decisively below the 7,000 mark for the first time since May 1, 1997. From current levels, modest resistance holds at 6,880 and is followed by additional overhead around 7,100.”

The Shakleton White Associates CEO finished her speech by commenting on the Nasdaq saying “ The Nasdaq's also broken down severely, nonetheless, it's the only benchmark not making multi-year lows. From Monday's close of 1,322, the November trough of 1,295 holds 27 points, or 2% lower. Conversely, notable resistance rests at 1,372, and is followed by modest overhead around 1,404.”
