1,200 Guests Help Raise $188,100 at 24th Annual A Toast to the Triangle

Raleigh, NC, March 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mary Freeman, president and CEO of the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, announced today that $188,100 was raised at the 24th annual A Toast to the Triangle™. More than1, 200 guests attended the Center’s signature fundraising event held March 8.

A Toast to the Triangle offered guests samples from nearly 40 of the Triangle’s finest restaurants, caterers and purveyors of fine wines and specialty beers. Participants also had the opportunity to bid on an array of donated items during the event’s live and silent auctions.

In a spirited, yet friendly competition, A Toast to the Triangle judges honored restaurants with six “2009 Best in Show” food category awards:

Best Entrée: Bentley’s at Crossroads, Cary – Seared Jumbo Scallops with Parmesan Risotto and Curry Pineapple Salsa

Best Appetizer : An, Cary – Shrimp Cupcake

Best Presentation: Bentley’s at Crossroads, Cary – Seared Jumbo Scallops with Parmesan Risotto and Curry Pineapple Salsa

Best Dessert: Second Empire, Raleigh – Sweet Potato Bread Pudding with Brown Sugar Anglaise

A Toast to the Triangle raises funds for the Tammy Lynn Memorial Foundation, Inc., which in turn supports programs and services of the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities.
