Annual Gala to Raise Money for HeartShare

HeartShare's Annual Spring Gala and Auction is an exciting evening with celebrities, awards and a silent auction.

New York, NY, March 15, 2009 --( HeartShare Human Services of New York celebrates its 21st Annual Spring Gala and Auction on Tuesday, March 24. As its premier fundraising event, all proceeds benefit HeartShare’s vital services for 20,000 at-risk children, adults and families in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

Being held at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, this year’s Gala will honor: Jose Velazquez, Chairman of the National Hispanic Business Group and President of Tri-Line Contracting Corp, The Joseph R. Benfante, Esq. Family, Brian Schiffman and The Vittoria Family, and Frank Valentini, Executive Producer on behalf of ABC Daytime’s One Life To Live.

The exciting evening boasts a silent auction of wonderful items, awards, and the chance to mingle with celebrities. Scheduled to attend this year are: Danny Aiello, Emmy-award winner Linda Dano, Rosanna Scotto (Good Day New York), Jim Kerr (Q 104.3 Morning Show), Tony Sirico (The Sopranos), Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Kathryn Newton (Gary Unmarried), Shae D/Lyn (Dharma & Greg), Melissa Clare Egan (All My Children), Crystal Hunt (The Guiding Light), Academy award-winner Cathy Moriarty, Barbara Feldon (Get Smart), and more.

Celebrating its 95th year, HeartShare is a nonprofit organization that assists more than 20,000 New Yorkers. Its wide spectrum of services assist individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities through numerous programs including education services, adult day programs, residential services, case management, recreation programs, family support services, and health services. It also provides counseling, after-school programs and assistance with foster care and adoption to children and families, supports people affected by HIV/AIDS, and administers energy assistance programs.
