NAFA's Green Fleet Ride-and-Drive Lets You Drive the Future

One of the most popular events at NAFA's annual Institute & Expo returns to give fleet managers the opportunity to test drive alternative-fueled vehicles for themselves.

Princeton, NJ, March 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Fleet managers can learn about the latest in alternative-fueled vehicles at NAFA's 2009 Institute & Expo, and then go one step further by actually getting behind the wheel and taking the vehicles for a test ride. For the third straight year, NAFA's I&E will feature the latest in hybrids, electric, bio-diesel, and compressed natural gas vehicles at the Green Fleet Ride-and-Drive. Quickly becoming one of the I&E's most popular events, the Green Fleet Ride-and-Drive will take place on Monday, April 27th, from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Although the cost of fuel is low at the moment, last year's soaring prices at the pump sounded alarms with many fleet managers to make the switch to smaller, more fuel-efficient cars. The Green Fleet Ride-and-Drive is a great opportunity to see a wide assortment of alternative-fueled vehicles ranging from cars that run on CNG to scooters and electric bicycles to hybrid bucket trucks and off-road diesel vehicles.

Companies currently confirmed for the Green Fleet Ride-and-Drive include: Altech-Eco (Transeco Energy), American Honda, Columbia ParCar Corp, Diesel Technology Forum, Dueco, e-ride Industries, Miles Electric Vehicles, Inc., Perc, and Ultra Motor USA.

NAFA's 2009 Institute & Expo will be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center April 25-28. The Green Fleet Ride-and-Drive will take place just outside the Convention Center and is open to all registered I&E fleet managers showing a valid driver's license.

In addition to the Green Fleet Ride-and-Drive, NAFA's 2009 I&E also features the Green Fleet Awards, which honor individuals who have implemented pioneering, innovative, and creative programs to help with their employer's overall going green initiative; the Green Zone, a special area of the expo floor featuring the latest in green products, information, and services; sessions on alternative fuels and how to green your fleet; and the Masters' Seminar: Carbon Footprint Calculation and Management which provides an explanation of the contribution of vehicle emissions to greenhouse gases (GHG), an examination of GHG emissions reduction strategies, and the official rollout and first demonstration of the EDF-NAFA carbon emissions calculator.

Global automotive industry expert, Graeme Maxton, will provide the Keynote Address for NAFA's 2009 I&E. The I&E also features over 60 hours of fleet training, education, and workshops; the Public Safety Roadeo and a large collection of emergency vehicles, and an Expo Floor with more than 150 companies showing their products and services. Future I&E locations include Detroit (2010), Charlotte (2011), St. Louis (2012), and Atlantic City (2013). For more information, visit http://www.nafaIandE.org
