Winn Technology Group Goes Green

The company's environmental and community efforts have reduced its carbon footprint and benefited local charities and global disaster victims.

Palm Harbor, FL, March 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Winn Technology Group, a leading marketer of business-to-business technology products and services, announces several environmental and community outreach programs as part of its ongoing effort to be a responsible member of the global community.

The marketing firm manages a company-wide program to recycle office paper, newspapers and magazines, cans, and plastic. On a monthly basis, the program facilitates the re-use of hundreds of pounds of materials that would otherwise go to waste, ultimately reducing landfill debris and saving trees.

Additionally, Winn has implemented numerous company policies which have resulted in lower operating costs and a reduced carbon footprint. Some of these policies include window tinting, reduced paper consumption, optimization of air conditioning units, server consolidation, and participation in the Bicycle Commuter Act as part of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Winn Technology Group's community efforts over the years have helped benefit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Metropolitan Ministries, F.E.A.S.T. Food Bank, and Florida Blood Services. Additionally, Winn has helped victims of natural disasters including Hurricane Charley (2004), the Asian Tsunami (2004), and Hurricane Katrina (2005). Winn employees have donated thousands of dollars which have been matched by the company.

In addition to the charities mentioned above, Winn supports local schools by donating money, time, and technology, as well as participating in educational cooperative programs and sponsoring local sporting teams.
