Southfield Attorney to Moderate IADC Professional Liability Roundtable

Attorney Michael J. Sullivan of Southfield-based Collins, Einhorn, Farrell & Ulanoff, P.C. will serve as a moderator and presenter at the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Professional Liability Roundtable on May 14 in Manhattan, NY.

Southfield, MI, March 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Attorney Michael J. Sullivan of Southfield-based Collins, Einhorn, Farrell & Ulanoff, P.C. (www.ceflawyers.com) will serve as a moderator and presenter at the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Professional Liability Roundtable on May 14 in Manhattan, NY. The event will take place at the College of Insurance at St. John’s University.

Entitled “Sub-Prime Redux (now for the rest of the story),” Sullivan will lead the discussion focusing on the recent developments in the sub-prime crisis, and the implications of those developments for lawyers, other professionals (e.g. title agents and underwriters, appraisers, and real estate professionals), and the insurance carriers that cover them. The topic is a continuation of a discussion topic that commenced at the 2008 conference in Chicago, which attracted an audience of legal and insurance professionals from throughout the U.S.

Sullivan will be joined on the panel by Minnesota Lawyer Mutual Vice President of Claims Tim Gephart and Aon Benfield Senior Vice President Dan Zureich.

Sullivan, who has more than 25 years of litigation experience, is no stranger to the speaking circuit. The University of Detroit School of Law and University of Notre Dame alum boasts a long list of appearances in this capacity, including serving as a presenter at the IADC’s 2007 Professional Liability Roundtable.

In the professional liability arena, Sullivan has defended attorneys, physicians, accountants, architects, engineers, real estate appraisers, real estate brokers, and title agents in defense of significant claims involving personal injury, property damage and business loss.

Sullivan also has substantial experience in product liability litigation. He maintains an active general civil litigation practice, including business disputes, insurance disputes and personal injury defense.

In the field of business litigation, Sullivan represents parties to commercial disputes, including tier one and tier two automotive suppliers in disputes with vendors and purchasers. His successful track record as a trial lawyer includes numerous defense verdicts on behalf of professionals.

Active in state and local bar organizations, Sullivan is the immediate past president of the Oakland County Bar Association. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Oakland County Bar Foundation, and will begin a one year term as President of the Bar Foundation in July of this year. Sullivan also is a member of the Council of the State Bar of Michigan’s Negligence Section, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), and the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), where he serves on the Professional Liability Committee.

Additionally, Sullivan is a Fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation and the Michigan State Bar Foundation. He is a court approved facilitator and mediator and has served as a neutral arbitrator for the National Association of Security Dealers.
