Ad Agency Launches in Northport, New York, as Slightly Mad Communications

New full service agency, headed by veterans Paul Levine and Dawn Amato, owns longislandbiz2biz.com.

Huntington, NY, April 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- New York advertising executive Paul Levine has joined forces with Sidewalk Design’s Dawn Amato to launch Slightly Mad Communications, a full-service advertising agency headquartered in Northport, NY.

Sidewalk Designs was established in 1986 as an innovative Long Island-based design studio bringing an international network of multi-disciplined collaborators together, serving a diverse client roster. Founder Dawn Amato, founder, brings a unique perspective to advertising and design as a trained fine artist, illustrator, sculptor and recognized expert in interactive technologies. Her partner, Paul Levine, has 25 years experience as an advertising executive holding senior level positions at New York and UK based agencies such as Mad Dogs & Englishmen (where he was a Partner) and Bates Worldwide (where he was EVP, CMO Worldwide) working on behalf of an international blue-chip client roster.

Slightly Mad’s client engagements always begin with their innovative Brand Assessment Process TM, which Levine initially developed at Mad Dogs. This unique process uncovers strategic brand, consumer and marketplace insights to reveal core market opportunities and insures a highly effective and media-agnostic approach to advertising. The agency’s diverse service offerings include strategic development, print, outdoor, interactive and broadcast advertising, as well as graphic design including product and package design, corporate identity, interactive, motion graphics and content development.

Slightly Mad Communications believes that the best way for a brand to stand out is for it to be authentically human. “People love or hate brands for the same reasons they do people. That's why the most successful brands in the world have the most well defined personalities. We work with our clients find theirs,” says Levine, strategic director.

“Our business model is designed to provide streamlined and inspired, strategic and creative solutions and we can do this across a wide spectrum of categories and mediums”, Levine states.

Although this has been a particularly challenging period for the Long Island economy, Slightly Mad Communications has experienced a rapid rate of growth in its first year.

“We are bringing global brand experience to the Long Island region and possess a deep understanding of this marketplace. We specialize in generating business through sophisticated non-traditional and cost-effective marketing solutions. Slightly Mad is militantly focused on our clients’ growth,” says Levine.

Slightly Mad Communications also owns one of the fastest growing online networking organizations, www.longislandbiz2biz.com. The site was launched in 2007 by Sidewalk Designs and is now one of two online assets published by Slightly Mad.

“The site was developed to create a meaningful social business community for Long Island entrepreneurs, small businesses and corporate professionals to network, share ideas and find business opportunities,” Amato states. The biz2biz also has live, face-to-face networking events, including seminars, trade shows and speed networking.

Slightly Mad Communications has plans for a consumer portal offering a new cultural perspective on the people, places, products and cuisines of Long Island. “It is a celebration of the best and most unique things Long Island has to offer,” says Amato. The site is currently in beta testing.

Slightly Mad Communications’ client roster includes: Intelligent Office of Garden City, Everything Lidia Inc., CoinLand.com, Long Island Veterinary Specialists, New York Veterinary Foundation, Isle Card Company, Quantum Career Services, Trans Act Intermediaries Inc., Comedian Taylor Mason, Island Group Plans MetLife and TGIFriday’s to name a few.
