Dr. David Minkoff Reveals Hidden Source of Mercury Contamination

Dr. David Minkoff MD (http://www.drminkoff.com) reveals a hidden source of mercury contamination as serious as mercury toxic fish and silver/mercury amalgam dental fillings during Aspects of Achieving Optimum Health seminar series.

Clearwater, FL, April 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- David Minkoff, MD (http://www.drminkoff.com), lecturer, alternative medicine and heavy metals (mercury, lead, uranium, etc) exposure expert, reveals a hidden source of mercury contamination in his “Aspects of Achieving Optimum Health” seminar series. This hidden source is as serious as, and possibly more pervasive than mercury toxic fish and silver/mercury amalgam fillings in ones teeth. The reason it’s a hidden source is because it comes from the emissions of coal-burning plants and it’s in the air one breathes.

“Mercury is a by-product of a coal-burning plant. Coal burning energy plants sends tons of mercury into the atmosphere on an annual basis. It travels on the breeze and anyone around the plant or downwind will breathe it,” explains Dr. David Minkoff in his talk on heavy metal exposures. “Mercury emissions from China can reach Los Angeles within a week and pollute the air and waterways. To give a comparison, one silver/mercury amalgam filling contains about 500 mg of mercury. If that amount was in a 10-acre lake, the EPA would put a ‘do not eat the fish advisory’ warning people not to eat the fish from that lake.”

Visitors to beautiful Clearwater Beach may not realize that within 30 miles, both north and south, coal burning energy plants are exhaling their mercury bi product on a daily basis. It’s in the air they breathe.

It has become common knowledge that one can become mercury toxic from fish or fillings, but it is not well known that one can become mercury toxic from the air one breathes.

Symptoms of heavy metal toxicity from mercury can include lack of energy, tremors, cloudy or fuzzy thinking, anxiety, autoimmune disease and cancer. For more information about mercury toxicity you can visit http://www.epa.gov/mercury/about.htm

Dr. David Minkoff also currently devotes most of his time to writing and research when he’s not training for his next Ironman race. The book he is writing, “How To Live To 120 and Feel Like 35,” explores the difference between chronological age and biological age and explains the steps one can take to lengthen his/her lifespan while retaining feelings of youth, energy, vitality, and health in his/her body. The book is intended to be a handbook for the body. For more information about Dr. David Minkoff and to read more of his work visit http://www.drminkoff.com.

Dr. David Minkoff (http://www.drminkoff.com/bio.asp) graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1974 and was elected to the “Phi Beta Kappa” of medical schools, the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Fraternity for very high academic achievement. He then worked as an attending physician in infectious disease while conducting original research on Ribaviron (a broad spectrum anti-viral agent to fight disease), co-directed a neo-natal intensive care unit and worked in emergency medicine until 1995. At that time, his wife became sick with an illness no physician could diagnose. Not accepting an uncertain prognosis, Dr. Minkoff went on a search to help her that led him out of emergency medicine into alternative medicine to find the answers. As a result of his advanced studies, his wife is now in good health and enjoying racing in triathlons.
