Helping Fight a Flood, One T-Shirt at a Time

An internet t-shirt company that specializes in pop culture t-shirts is promoting new products with all of the profits going to the flood relief efforts in the Red River Valley.

Eden Prairie, MN, April 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Designer Teez.com, an online t-shirt retailer, is banking on the fact that there are a lot of good people still left in this world. They have designed t-shirts with 100% of the profits going to the flood relief for the victims in Fargo ND and Moorhead, MN. Not only that, but they are also donating 15% of all profits from any other t-shirts that they sell as well.

“Myself and my wife are originally from the area and we still have family members and friends that live there,” said Mike Mancini, founder of Mancini Enterprises Inc. (parent company of Designer Teez.com) “We have both lived through the floods of the past and know how devastating it can be to the community. These are people who have worked through freezing temperatures for days to save houses of people that they have never even met. They seem to have a great handle on the flood waters, but the clean-up of the area is still to come and that can be even harder for the residents because most of the volunteers that helped with the flood prevention have gone home.”

Designer Teez.com sells pop culture, television, movie, sports, and political t-shirts among many others. It was started back in November of 2007 and been growing at a rapid pace. “Even with a down economy, we are still showing 35 to 40% growth for this year so far. Now is the time that we give back to a community that we are not only from, but helped make us successful,” Mancini states.

There are two different t-shirts have been designed specifically for this fund raiser. “The two shirts are The FM Flood Fighters and The FM Sandbagging Squad. The t-shirts are $14.99 and in addition to people being able to purchase these t-shirts for a good cause, we are also offering the opportunity for buyers to donate those t-shirts to the flood victims who have lost everything that they have,” says Mancini.

The funds that are raised will be donated between the American Red Cross and the Untied Way Long-Term Flood Recovery funds. The money will be tracked and reported on the Designer Teez.com website. “We understand that there are people like us who cannot physically be at the flood site to help out, but this is something that we can do to make sure that people in the area get back to their normal lives as quickly as possible.”

With the proceeds from the flood t-shirts and the additional donations coming from sales of the more than 100 t-shirts on their website, Designer Teez hopes that they can help a community in need, even if it is only 1 t-shirt at a time.
