Marketing FE in the Google Age

Education Consortium Educated: College and Training Provider Consortium "Learning at Work" Given the Rundown on Marketing in the Google Age by Marketing Magician Stefan Drew.

Royal Leamington Spa, United Kingdom, April 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Attendees at the Learning at Work’s recent consortium meeting were upbeat when UK based Stefan Drew of College & Trainer Marketing advised them to continue marketing during the downturn and that Further Education marketing is changing rapidly in what he described as the “Google Age”.

He went on to describe how the college and training provider consortium, and its constituent membership, can use both low cost traditional and Emarketing strategies to engage employers more effectively.

Despite the depth of the recession, or perhaps because of it, colleges and training providers attendees from across the country reported considerable interest in workbased learning with new businesses being signed up on a daily basis.

Ray Brogden, Strategic Development Director for Learning at Work commented, “Learning at Work is involved with “upskilling the workforce” partnerships with colleges and training providers across the country and we are seeing considerable employer interest in Train to Gain, NVQs as well, unsurprisingly, retraining for staff being made redundant.

Clearly many businesses cut back on training when times are hard but we are seeing the more enlightened employers taking advantage of the opportunities brought about by lighter order books.”

He continued, “We are also helping our membership by providing them with training that will help them to help employers and the turnout at our meetings indicate positive our partners are in learning new skills themselves.

Attendees at our recent quarterly meeting considered the employers’ perspective with an excellent presentation by Ceri-Anne Travers, People Development Manager, BUPA Care Services. They also examined Quality Assurance and Skills for Life within the sector as well as Thinking Maps”

Membership of Learning at Work continues to grow and colleges, training providers and employers interested in more help can contact Ray Brogden on 07534 943452 or by emailing ray@learning-work.co.uk
