On July 18 the ship departed from Canaveral, Florida for New York on the final leg of a nine-day Caribbean voyage. The ship, which weighs approximately 113,000 tons, had more than 3,100 passengers and 1,200 crew members aboard when the incident occurred.  While the actual cause of the problem, Crown Princess said yesterday that the incident was a result of human error. Similar incidents have happened in the past. The ship has since departed for Brooklyn, New York, with investigators from the U.S. Coast Guard and NTSB aboard. Carnival currently intends to put the ship back into service this Saturday, even if the investigation is not completed.
