New Chloride UPS Enables Active Organisations to Use Less Energy

New single-phase UPS reinforces Chloride’s commitment to high performance

Southampton, United Kingdom, April 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Chloride, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and services, today launches its new, improved version of the Active range of single-phase UPS. Incorporating Green Mode function, the new Active range allows automated shutdown of the UPS unit when there is no load supported by it, preventing energy wastage. Active is available from 700-3000VA and provides efficiencies of up to 97%, making it ideal for protecting business critical systems such as servers, networks, workstations and VoIP technologies.

Active’s innovative rack/tower convertible design allows it to be deployed in either tower or rack format, making it ideal for environments where space is at a premium. It fits easily into a standard rack cabinet, only requiring the minimum of space. The new Active has easy to use LED and LCD user interfaces, which makes the operation of the UPS very straightforward. With its external battery packs, Active allows for an increased range of autonomies giving further flexibility in the management of an organisation’s backup power infrastructure.

Chloride is renowned for its reliable UPS and the Active range continues this tradition. Offering the highest output power factor of 0.9 for both leading and lagging loads, Active’s high resilience provides maximum power to load making it a truly future-proofed solution, supporting leading loads without derating. Through Active’s controllable output sockets, organisations can intelligently manage the loads, which are protected by the UPS.

“The Active range is a highly efficient, manageable and environmentally friendly UPS solution,” says Chloride’s Technical Support Manager, Rob Tanzer. “By incorporating leading edge technologies and using advanced connectivity options, combined with its ability to manage critical loads in a variety of applications, this UPS system can actively contribute towards your Green IT goals.”

Additionally, the new version of Active UPS is fully compatible with Chloride’s connectivity solutions giving centralised control of distributed or remote UPS systems and enabling safe network shut down.

“By providing a range of solutions that enable our customers to maximise system uptime and preserve vital data, we are leading the way in innovative products,” adds Tanzer. “Through these improvements made to the Active range, we are ideally placed to help our customers control their business environments from any impurities or changes in the power supply.”
